It’s possible to go on a snorkeling day trip to the islands around Koh Lanta. Typically this is visiting Ko Rok or Ko Ngai and Ko Mook (sometimes called the 4 Islands Tour) but it’s also possible to visit Ko Kradan, Ko Phi-Phi and Ko Haa. You have lots and lots of options if you want to go snorkeling:
Speedboat. These boats are deceptively large and you’ll typically be joining a group of around 25-30 other people
Longtail. This more traditional laidback option can be a lot of fun. You can join a group of people as part of a shared boat trip or for a truly unforgettable day, charter your own longtail for the day and go on your own watery adventure.
Dive Boats. It’s entirely possible to go snorkeling with one of the various dive companies around the island. You get the advantage of a fancy fully equipped dive boat, tasty food, and scuba-diving quality equipment for snorkeling. It’s also one of the easier ways to go snorkeling at Ko Haa as most longtails don’t go there from Lanta. Any dive center on the island will be happy to have you aboard – we recommend Lanta Diver. It can also be a great way to show non-diving friends or family what they are missing out on, while getting to see some fantastic marine life from the surface!
How to book
It’s very easy to book a snorkeling trip on a longtail or speedboat at any of the many travel agents on the island, or ask in reception for advice.
